Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar went 2-for-5 on Sunday for Triple-A Reno, collecting a hit in 12 straightgames in which he's started (he was 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter during that stretch). In those12 games alone, the 22-year-old is 24-for-51 (.471) with seven doubles, two triples, four home runs, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored, eight stolen bases, and a 10:10 BB:K. Now slashing a robust .356/.451/.644 on the year, the team has played him at second base the most, along with starts at third base, shortstop, and once at designated hitter. The versatility will serve him well with Ketel Marte, Geraldo Perdomo, and Eugenio Suarez blocking a full-time role for him at those defensive spots. MLB's 10th-ranked prospect is going to force his way onto the rosterin the near future, though, and should be a strong five-category producer, so fantasy managers should be stashing him away ahead oftime.

Chicago White Sox infielder Nick Maton cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. Maton will remain with the White Sox despite recently being designated for assignment and losing his spot on the 40-man roster. The 28-year-old will continue to serve as infield depth in the minors for the Pale Hose. He appeared in 23 games for Chicago to open the 2025 season and went 9-for-52 (.173) with two home runs, two doubles, four RBI, five runs scored, nine walks and 18 strikeouts. The former seventh-round selection by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2017 out of Lincoln Land Community College is well off the fantasy radar and has a .202/.302/.354 career slash line with a .655 OPS, 17 home runs and 67 RBI in 207 games played.

Chicago White Sox left-hander Tyler Gilbert will serve as the team's opener for Tuesday's contest against the Milwaukee Brewers, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. This will be Gilbert's third straight appearance in the opener role for the White Sox, with the 31-year-old southpaw throwing two shutout innings with a walk and three strikeouts his last two times out, both against the Athletics. Gilbert hasn't been good outside of his two opening assignments, surrendering five earned runs on five hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out eight in 5 2/3 relief innings. Right-hander Bryse Wilson is expected to be Chicago's bulk reliever on Tuesday against Milwaukee. Neither Gilbert, nor Wilson should be considered by those looking for sleeper streamers this week.

Chicago White Sox infielder Josh Rojas (toe) will start a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. Rojas will be playing in his first game since suffering a hairline fracture in his right big toe back in the middle of March during spring training. When the 30-year-old veteran is fully cleared from his toe injury and is activated from the injured list, he's expected to serve as Chicago's primary second baseman. The left-handed-hitting infielder is useful in AL-only leagues due to his multi-position eligibility, but he offers little fantasy upside with his bat. Rojas hit .225/.304/.336 with eight home runs, 31 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 142 games last year with the Seattle Mariners and holds a .685 career OPS with only 34 long balls and 189 RBI in six MLB seasons. Defense at second and third base is Rojas' primary calling card.

The Detroit Tigers sent right-hander Keider Montero back to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday after his spot start in a doubleheader on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles. In his third start of the year over the weekend, Montero gave up only one earned run on four hits while walking two and striking out two in 4 1/3 innings for a no-decision. It was the 24-year-old's best start of the season against a tough opponent, but he'll now head back to the farm to serve as rotation depth for the big-league squad. Montero fanned eight hitters in five innings in his season debut on April 16 against the Milwaukee Brewers but also allowed five earned runs. He has so far been up and down in three starts in 2025 after going 6-6 with a 4.76 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 77:31 K:BB in 98 1/3 innings in his rookie year in 2024. Montero will be a streamer for those in AL-only leagues if/when he makes another start in Detroit.

Miami Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers (forearm) had a successful first minor-league rehab start on Sunday at Single-A Jupiter, tossing three scoreless and hitless innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Weathers looked good in his first rehab outing and will now likely be moved up to Double-A or Triple-A for his next rehab start. The 25-year-old southpaw has been on the 15-day injured list since the 2025 regular season started, but he might need only one or two more rehab outings before the Marlins look to activate him and return him to their starting rotation. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues should think about scooping Weathers up if he's available on your waiver wire. He has breakout potential if he can stay healthy after going 5-6 with a 3.63 ERA (4.11 FIP) and 1.18 WHIP with 80 strikeouts and 24 walks in 16 starts covering 86 2/3 innings pitched.

Colorado Rockies infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant (back) will have "follow-up scans" on his back after visiting with Dr. Robert Watkins on Monday, according to general manager Bill Schmidt. The result of Bryant's follow-up scans will guide the team through the next steps of Bryant's hopeful return. Bryant made it only 11 games with the Rockies in 2025 before landing on the 10-day injured list earlier this month with lumbar degenerative disc disease. The 33-year-old has essentially been injured ever since he joined the Rockies for the 2022 season and hasn't played in more than 80 games in a single year since then. He started out this year going 6-for-39 (.154) with no homers, two doubles, an RBI, two walks and 13 strikeouts before getting hurt yet again. At this point, the four-time All-Star and former MVP could be looking at a career-ending injury if he cannot bounce back and return at some point this year.

St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Steven Matz will draw the start in Wednesday's game against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. It will be Matz's second start of the year, and he'll be pitching on three days of rest after getting two outs out of the bullpen on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw has pitched well for the Red Birds early on in 2025 -- he's allowed four earned runs on 15 hits (no homers) while walking only three and striking out 14 in 20 innings, but he'll still be a pretty volatile streaming option in a hitter-friendly ballpark this week. In his lone start this year on April 16 against the Houston Astros, Matz got the win by giving up just one earned run in five innings while walking none and striking out five.

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge (knee) will throw a live batting practice session on Wednesday. It will be the first time that Kittredge will face live hitters since having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee during spring training in March. The 35-year-old veteran reliever began the 2025 season on the 15-day injured list but is making good progress and could be ready to come off the IL for his season debut in May. When healthy, Kittredge could develop into a key late-inning setup man for the Orioles in front of closer Felix Bautista. If he's able to get through a couple live batting practice sessions, Kittredge should be cleared for a minor-league rehab assignment sooner than later. He has yet to pitch in 2025 for Baltimore but was an All-Star in 2021 with the Rays and had a 2.80 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 70 2/3 frames a year ago.

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano entered this game with the lowest strikeout percentage of any qualified starting pitcher. However, Sugano had his swing-and-miss stuff going during Monday's game against the New York Yankees. The right-hander tossed five shutout innings, allowing five hits, and striking out a career-high eight batters in the win. The 35-year-old has been a viable option posting a 3.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 17/6 K/BB ratio across six starts this season. His next start will come against the Kansas City Royals at home. Sugano is worth a look as a deep league or AL-only option heading into that game.

The Baltimore Orioles placed catcher Gary Sanchez (wrist) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with right-wrist inflammation and selected the contract of catcher Maverick Handley from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko. With Sanchez going on the shelf, Handley will provide catching depth for the O's behind starter Adley Rutschman for the time being. Sanchez has not been on the fantasy radar, even in two-catcher leagues, in 2025. Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that right-hander Kyle Bradish (elbow) threw another bullpen session on Monday. Bradish has been throwing bullpens for around two weeks, so he could be cleared to take the next step soon and face live hitters in his recovery from Tommy John surgery last June. Still, the 28-year-old has a long ways to go in his rehab and isn't expected to be a starting-rotation option for Baltimore until after the All-Star break in mid-July. When he returns, he'll be a shaky fantasy streamer and could struggle with his command initially while most likely being on an innings restriction. The former fourth-rounder of the Los Angeles Angels in 2018 out of New Mexico State had a 2.81 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 221 strikeouts and 59 walks in 38 starts since the start of the 2023 season, but we'll be tempering our expectations in the second half in 2025.

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Nick Martinez looked good on the mound during Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-hander gave up a run early, but settled down nicely after that. Martinez tossed six innings, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out three batters in the win. Martinez hasn't been great on the mound this season, but has allowed two earned runs or less in each of his last two starts. He'll take a 4.68 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 26/11 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Washington Nationals. Martinez is worth a look in deep leagues or NL-only formats ahead of that start.

It will be the first time that Wells has thrown off a mound since he had UCL surgery and an internal-brace procedure on his right elbow in June of 2024. It will be a big step for the 30-year-old hurler, but his return to a big-league mound in 2025 is a ways off and most likely won't come until the second half of the season. Fantasy managers in mixed single-year leagues can continue to leave him to the waiver wire. It's also unclear if Wells will have a rotation spot waiting for him in Baltimore when he is activated from the injured list. He made only three starts last year before being shut down but had a career-best 3.64 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with a career-high 117 strikeouts and 34 walks in 118 2/3 innings over 25 outings (20 starts) in 2023. At best, he'll be a deep-mixed streamer later this season.

Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Emilio Pagan was called upon to protect a two-run lead against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. The right-hander didn't need to do much work as he notched in eighth save of the season on seven pitches. Pagan has a 2.51 ERA, 0.49 WHIP, and 14/2 K/BB ratio with eight saves in nine attempts this season. He deserves to be rostered in all fantasy formats where saves matter. Alexis Diaz figures to be in the mix for saves, but pitched the eighth inning on Monday. It looks like the Reds are going to keep riding with Pagan until he gives them a reason otherwise.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser (thumb), who was moved to the 60-day injured list on Monday, has not been cleared for baseball activities but is doing better as he recovers from a fractured left thumb, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko. Cowser isn't expected to return from the IL until late May or early June, barring a setback once he resumes baseball activities. The 25-year-old former fifth overall pick in 2021 out of Sam Houston State had just two hits (one homer) in his first 16 at-bats with an RBI before fracturing his thumb early this season, but he should be a lineup regular with breakout potential when he returns, so fantasy managers may want to consider picking him up off the waiver wire if he's available and you have the room. With both Cowser and Tyler O'Neill (neck) both currently on the shelf, Heston Kjerstad is seeing regular playing time in the outfield in Baltimore.

New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos had a nice day at the plate during Monday's game against the Washington Nationals. Vientos has been hot with the bat lately as he took a five-game hitting streak into Monday's contest. He was able to single and extend that streak, but he also smashed a three-run home run off infielder Amed Rosario who was pitching in the ninth inning. It wasn't too impressive of a homer considering it was off a meatball thrown by a non-pitcher, but fantasy managers will take the points. Vientos is hitting over .300 during the last two weeks and deserves to be rostered in most fantasy formats.

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (elbow, lat, triceps), who was shifted to the 60-day injured list on Monday, hasn't started throwing yet. Things have gone from bad to worse for Rodriguez through the first month of the 2025 season. The 25-year-old former top prospect started the year on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his right elbow and then recently was diagnosed with a mild right-lat strain after he was scratched from a bullpen session earlier this month. The Orioles hope that Rodriguez will resume throwing in a couple of weeks, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to return until June in a best-case scenario. A lat injury ended his season early last year as well in what was a strong campaign. Fantasy managers that drafted Rodriguez before his injury need to hang tight and keep him stashed in an IL spot.

Eflin threw his first bullpen session last Friday after landing on the 15-day injured list back on April 9 with a strained right lat. The 31-year-old veteran continues to make progress and could be cleared to go on a minor-league rehab assignment if he has another successful bullpen on Tuesday. The former 33rd overall pick by the San Diego Padres in 2012 had allowed six earned runs while walking just one and striking out eight in 18 innings over his first three starts this year with Baltimore before getting hurt. Eflin was much better for fantasy managers last year after he was traded from Tampa to the O's, and he had picked up where he left off. He is a control artist that keeps hitters off balance, but his drop in strikeout rate is concerning for his overall fantasy upside.

New York Mets starting pitcher Griffin Canning continued his strong start to the season during Monday's game against the Washington Nationals. The right-hander earned his fourth win of the season as he tossed five scoreless innings in this one. He gave up four hits, walked three batters, and struck out five batters while throwing 90 pitches on Monday. It wasn't a great performance, but Canning has been a viable fantasy option lately. He has allowed one earned run or less in four of his last five starts. He'll take a 2.61 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 31/14 K/BB ratio into his next start against the St. Louis Cardinals.
