Allen has game for the ages
There might have been six weeks on a bye but that didn’t stop the fantasy scoring for many. We had some absolutely huge performances. Josh Allen had one of the all-time greatest fantasy performances. And three receivers had 33-plus fantasy points. We even had a backup running back get a start score nearly 40 fantasy points. Sure, we still had some down games along the way, but it wasn’t all bad for Bye-Magedon II. Hopefully, you were on the positive side of things in Week 14.
Lions 34, Packers 31
Fantasy Stud: Josh Jacobs. Jacobs had another big game for his fantasy teams, scoring three times. He ran 18 times 66 yards and three touchdowns. Jacobs scored 24.6 fantasy points, giving him four straight games with 20-plus fantasy points. He is now over 1,000-yards rushing for the season and has 11 touchdowns. A move to Green Bay was a good one for the fantasy value of Jacobs. He is having as good of a season as ever with his new team
Fantasy Dud: Jordan Love. Love played fine in this game, but didn’t help fantasy owners. He watching Jacobs do all the scoring. Love was 12-of-20 for 206 yards and a touchdown. He scored just 16.6 fantasy points. Love has fewer than 17 fantasy points two of three games. He has been a lot more up and down for fantasy teams this season than his owners would like.
Game Notes: Jared Goff had his fourth three-touchdown game of the season. He was 32-of-41 for 283 yards and three touchdowns with an interception.
Tim Patrick found the end zone for the first time all season, scoring twice in the game. He had six receptions for 43 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets.
Jaguars 10, Titans 6
Fantasy Stud: Brian Thomas. There was not much offense in this game but Thomas got it going again, which was encouraging. He had eight receptions for 86 yards. He was targeted 12 times, which was a season high for Thomas. He had a few down games but now has 13-plus fantasy points three straight games
Fantasy Dud: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. The Titans had a lot of duds in this game but we’ll give it to Westbrook-Ikhine. He had just a catch for 19 yards. He got a lot of play because of his production of late and several fantasy teams looking for bye-week replacements. Westbrook-Ikhine was a bust, though.
Game Notes: Tony Pollard was a bright spot offensively, hitting the 100-yard rushing mark for the third time. He ran 21 times for 101 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards.
Tank Bigsby got most of the work at running back for the Jaguars. He ran 18 times for 55 yards and a touchdown. He caught a pass for seven yards as well.
Eagles 22, Panthers 16
Fantasy Stud: Jalen Hurts. Hurts found the end zone three times. He was 14-of-21 for 109 yards and two touchdowns without a turnover. He also ran eight times for 59 yards and a touchdown. Hurts scored 25.35 fantasy points. Hurts has fewer than 200-passing yards three straight games. He isn’t having quite the fantasy season most had hoped but still producing decent numbers
Fantasy Dud: A.J. Brown. Brown had four receptions for just 44 yards. He failed to top double-digit fantasy points for just the second time all season. Brown is having a so-so season of his standards, especially if you compare him to last season. He just isn’t having those huge games.
Game Notes: Jonathan Brooks left the game early with a non-contact knee injury. The injury did not look good and is one to watch going forward. He is getting imaging Monday to determine the severity.
Saquon Barkley had his fourth straight 100-yard rushing game. He ran 20 times for 124 yards and converted a two-point try in the game.
Bucs 28, Raiders 13
Fantasy Stud: Rachaad White. Bucky Irving was banged up early and unable to return to the game, giving White most of the work. White took advantage with one of his best games of the season. He ran 17 times 90 and a touchdown. White also caught two passes for 19 yards and another touchdown. White topped 20 fantasy points for the second time this season, scoring 24.9 points
Fantasy Dud: Brock Bowers. Bowers had a rare down game, catching three passes for 49 yards. He wasn’t horrible but just didn’t do much for his fantasy owners. Bowers failed to hit double-digit fantasy points for the second time in three games. He did not have double-digit targets for the first time since Week 9.
Game Notes: Sincere McCormick handled most of the work at running back for the Raiders. He ran 15 times for 78 yards and had two receptions for 11 yards.
Aidan O’Connell was injured in the game and had to leave early. He was 11-of-19 for 104 yards with an interception. Desmond Ridder relieved O’Connell and finished 12-of-18 for 101 yards.
Vikings 42, Falcons 21
Fantasy Stud: Jordan Addison. Addison had a career game, finishing with eight receptions for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Addison scored 39.3 fantasy points and has topped 30 fantasy points two of three games. He has touchdowns four of six games. He has really picked up his game since early in the season
Fantasy Dud: Kirk Cousins. We thought this might be a revenge game for Cousins, but he struggled once again. He failed to score a touchdown and was intercepted two times. Cousins was 23-of-37 for 344 yards with two interceptions. He scored just 15.2 fantasy points, giving him less than 16 fantasy points four straight games.
Game Notes: Sam Darnold was nearly perfect, going 22-of-28 for 347 yards and five touchdowns without a turnover. He had a season-high 38.05 fantasy points.
Darnell Mooney had his second 100-yard game of the season. He had six receptions for 142 yards on six targets.
Steelers 27, Browns 14
Fantasy Stud: David Njoku. Njoku continued his very solid play. He had just 42 yards but had seven receptions and a touchdown. Njoku scored 17.2 fantasy points. He has 17-plus points three of four games. Njoku has been targeted 29 times his last two games. He is playing as well as any fantasy receiver in the game right now
Fantasy Dud: Nick Chubb. Chubb had another ho-hum showing, splitting a lot of the work with Jerome Ford for the second straight game. He ran 11 times for 48 yards and didn’t catch a pass. Ford had 10 carries for 28 yards and caught three passes for 18 yards. Chubb is not usable for fantasy teams since his return from injury.
Game Notes: Najee Harris found the end zone for the second straight game. He ran 16 times for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Pat Freiermuth scored a touchdown for his second straight game. He had three receptions for 48 yards and a score. He has touchdowns three of five games.
Saints 14, Giants 11
Fantasy Stud: Tyrone Tracy. There was not much offense in this game but Tracy was a bright spot. He had 16 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown. He also caught five passes for 38 yards. He had another good overall fantasy game, scoring 19.3 fantasy points. Tracy was targeted a season-high 10 times in the game
Fantasy Dud: Marquez Valdes-Scanting. Valdes-Scantling got a lot fantasy play this week because of the bye weeks. He was a dud, though, catching four passes for 51 yards. He failed to hit double-digit fantasy points for the first time in three games. He did have a season-high seven targets in the game, which was a little encouraging despite his poor fantasy numbers.
Game Notes: Derek Carr fell awkwardly late in the game and was unable to return. It is feared that he suffers a broken hand. He was 20-of-31 for 218 yards and a touchdown with an interception before exiting late.
Kendre Miller had 10 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown. It was his first game since Week 8, missing because of a hamstring injury.
Dolphins 32, Jets 26
Fantasy Stud: Tyreek Hill. Hill looked like vintage Hill in this one, producing huge. He had 10 receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. He had a season-best 28.1 fantasy points. He had 20-plus points two straight games. He could be setup for a big finish to the season, putting behind him his so-so numbers to start the year
Fantasy Dud: Braelon Allen. Allen got some fantasy starts with Breece Hall out, but he pretty much split the work with Isaiah Davis. Allen ran 11 times for 43 yards and caught four passes for 38 yards. It wasn’t an awful fantasy game but pretty average for a starting back in the NFL.
Game Notes: The Jets had two 100-yard receivers. Garrett Wilson had seven receptions for 114 yards while Davante Adams had nine catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.
Jaylen Waddle had his second 100-yard game of the season. He had nine receptions 100 yards on a season-high 12 targets.
Seahawks 30, Cardinals 18
Fantasy Stud: Zach Charbonnet. Charbonnet had a huge game, getting a chance to start with Kenneth Walker out. He ran 22 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He also had seven receptions for 59 yards. Charbonnet scored 38.3 fantasy points. He showed his huge potential in a starting role for the Seahawks. He is a must start if Walker misses any more time
Fantasy Dud: DK Metcalf. Metcalf had another disappointing game, catching four passes for 49 yards. He continues to play second fiddle to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Metcalf scored just 8.9 fantasy points. He has fewer than double-digit points two of three games. He has not topped 70 yards in a game since Week 7.
Game Notes: Trey McBride continued his torrid play, finishing with seven receptions for 70 yards. He has at least seven receptions three straight games.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had five receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. He has touchdowns two of three games.
49ers 38, Bears 13
Fantasy Stud: Isaac Guerendo. Guerendo looked great in a starting role but had to leave the game early because of a foot injury. Hopefully, it isn’t too serious. He showed his huge ceiling in a starting role in this offense. He had 15 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 50 yards, giving him 128 total yards. He is about a must start as long as he is starting for the 49ers.
Fantasy Dud: D’Andre Swift. Swift got a decent workload but couldn’t do anything. He had 14 rushes for just 38 yards and a catch for two yards. The entire Bears offense struggled much of the game. Swift is posting more inconsistent numbers of late, leading to some disappointing fantasy owners.
Game Notes: George Kittle had six receptions for 151 yards. It was his second 100-yard game of the season. He topped 20 fantasy points for the sixth time this season.
Jauan Jennings continues to led the way at receiver for the 49ers. He caught seven passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns, giving him at least seven receptions three of five games.
Rams 44, Bills 42
Fantasy Stud: Josh Allen. Allen had one of the all-time greatest fantasy games. He scored six touchdowns, three rushing and three passing. It was the first time in the history of the NFL that someone had three rushing and passing touchdowns in a single game. Allen scored 55.3 fantasy points. It was quite the game. He has at least 23 fantasy points eight straight games
Fantasy Dud: James Cook. The Bills just completely abandoned the run in this game. Cook ran six times for just 20 yards and caught two passes for nine yards. He had a terrible game for fantasy owners, scoring just 4.9 fantasy points. It was his lowest fantasy output of the season, breaking a streak of five straight games with at least double-digit fantasy points
Game Notes: Puka Nacua had 12 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown. It was the first time all season he had double-digit receptions in a game.
Kyren Williams found the end zone for the third straight game. He had 29 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Williams is up to 14 total touchdowns on the season.
Chiefs 19, Chargers 17
Fantasy Stud: Quentin Johnston. Johnston got more chances with Ladd McConkey out and played well, catching five passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. Johnston scored 15.8 fantasy points, which was the third time this year he had 15-plus points in a game. His seven targets in the game were his second highest total of the season
Fantasy Dud: Both Chiefs backs. Isiah Pacheco got more of the work this week but still didn’t help fantasy owners. He ran 14 times for 55 yards and caught two passes for six yards. Kareem Hunt got less work, rushing five times for 16 yards. He caught a pass for 13 yards. Pacheco scored just 8.1 fantasy points in the game while Hunt had 3.9 points. Neither back is helping fantasy teams right now.
Game Notes: Justin Herbert was banged up in the game but missed just a play before returning. He played another solid game, going 21-of-30 for 213 yards and a touchdown without a turnover.
DeAndre Hopkins scored a touchdown for the second time in three games. He had four receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed free-agent tight end Cameron Latu to a Reserve/Futures deal on Tuesday and released wide receiver Elijah Cooks from their practice squad in a corresponding move. Latu was with the San Francisco 49ers during training camp but was cut before the start of the regular season. The 24-year-old then latched on with the Cleveland Browns and spent time on their practice squad in 2024, although he did not play in any games. He has never appeared in an NFL game and will merely be looking to stick around on Philly's active 53-man roster after training camp this summer. Latu was originally taken by the 49ers in the third round (101st overall) of the 2023 NFL draft out of Alabama.

The Carolina Panthers announced on Tuesday that they signed free-agent tight end James Mitchell and outside linebacker Boogie Basham to Reserve/Futures deals. Mitchell was a former fifth-round selection by the Detroit Lions in 2022 out of Virginia Tech. He was with the Lions on their practice squad in 2024 and will now try to make Carolina's active 53-man roster for the 2025 season. In 30 games over three seasons in the NFL, he has only recorded 13 catches for 141 yards and one touchdown in Detroit. Basham, meanwhile, was a second-round selection by the Buffalo Bills in 2021 out of Wake Forest. He'll reunite with general manager Dan Morgan, who was in Buffalo's front office when he was drafted. In 40 games over his four years in the NFL, Basham has 4.5 sacks. He was traded to the New York Giants in 2023.

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that they signed wide receivers David Sills, Phillip Dorsett II, Dylan Drummond, Jesse Matthews and Makai Polk, defensive tackles Junior Aho and LaCale London, offensive lineman Matthew Cindric, running back Elijah Dotson, offensive guards Joey Fisher and Jovaughn Gwyn, defensive backs Lamar Jackson and Benny Sapp III, quarterback Emory Jones, defensive end Khalid Kareem and offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. to Reserve/Futures deals. Thirteen of the 16 players were on the Falcons' practice squad at some point in 2024, with Gwyn, Jackson and Kareem seeing time on the active roster. Sills was with the Denver Broncos this year and was elevated to the active roster in Week 17, although he didn't see any action. He has 13 career catches for 123 yards in 16 games (seven starts) since debuting in 2021.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Malik Cunningham has signed a reserve/future deal to stay with the organization in 2025. Cunningham spent the entire 2024 campaign on the practice squad, but he'll get a chance to earn a spot on the 53-man roster during training camp. The Louisville product started his pro career as a quarterback, but has transitioned to a wideout with the Ravens. He played briefly with the New England Patriots before joining the Ravens roster. There is plenty of untapped potential here due to Cunningham's speed and the fact he played quarterback in college. Hopefully, the Ravens find a way to get him involved in their 2025 gameplan. In addition to Cunningham, the Ravens signed quarterback Devin Leary, receiver Dayton Wade, tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden, offensive linemen Corey Bullock and Darrian Dalcourt, defensive linemen Adedayo Odeleye, Basil Okoye and C.J. Ravenell and linebacker William Kwenkeu.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills defensive back Anthony Brown has been released by the organization on Tuesday. Brown was on the practice squad, but the team has decided to move on from him following their playoff victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The departure of Brown won't impact the Bills roster considering he didn't spend any time on the active roster. The 31-year-old hasn't played since the 2023 season with the San Francisco 49ers. However, Brown was a long time full-time starter with the Dallas Cowboys before leaving the team following the 2022 season. Brown will look to catch on elsewhere ahead of next season.
From RotoBaller
The Detroit Lions have signed wide receiver Ronnie Bell to a reserve/future deal on Tuesday. Bell was waived by the San Francisco 49ers in late November, but he was quickly signed back to the practice squad. The 24-year-old finished the season with two reception for 22 yards in nine games with the 49ers. The former seventh-round pick failed to do much in his two seasons in San Francisco. He'll look to catch on as a depth option with the Lions next season.

According to Alec Lewis of The Athletic, Daniel Jones could return to the Minnesota Vikings for the 2025 season. While Lewis noted that Jones is expected to test free agency, he could be a part of Minnesota's plans if Sam Darnold were to depart. This would present an opportunity for Jones to operate as the No.2 option behind J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy missed the entire 2024 season after he tore his meniscus during the preseason. Jones opened the 2024 campaign with the New York Giants but was released after Week 10. During this ten-game stint, Jones scored ten touchdowns, threw seven interceptions, and averaged a mere 207.5 passing yards per game. The 27-year-old operated as the No.3 QB while with the Minnesota Vikings. Given his struggles this season, Jones will likely operate as a backup throughout most of the 2025 campaign.
From RotoBaller
According to Colton Pouncy and Amos Morale III of The Athletic, Detroit Lions defensive back Carlton Davis could depart in free agency. Pouncy and Morale also mentioned offensive guard Kevin Zeitler as another name who could depart in free agency. With the Lions already losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and also potentially defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, the team could look quite different heading into the 2025 campaign. Davis sustained a fractured jaw during Week 15 and was sidelined for the remainder of the season. During the first 13 games of the campaign, the 28-year-old defensive back tallied 56 tackles (42 solos), 11 deflections, and two sacks while operating as a starter in the secondary. If he were to depart, Kindle Vildor would likely have an increased role next season.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, linebacker Lavonte David is considering retirement. Stroud reported that the 34-year-old linebacker will take some time to discuss his future with his family before making a decision. However, given that David played on a one-year deal during the 2024 season, retirement seems likely. During his career, David has been named to three All-Pro teams and one Pro Bowl team. He also won Super Bowl LV with Tampa Bay during the 2020 NFL Season. The former second-round selection out of Nebraska has tallied 1,601 tackles, 39 sacks, 71 deflections, 13 interceptions, and 31 forced fumbles throughout his 13-year career. This past season, David tallied 130 tackles across 18 contests.

According to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, the New England Patriots are hiring Josh McDaniels as their new offensive coordinator. McDaniels has had two prior tenures with the New England Patriots and will now be tasked to be a critical part of developing their new franchise quarterback, Drake Maye. McDaniels joined the Patriots for the first time in 2001 and eventually parted after the 2008 season to work for the Denver Broncos. He would then have a brief stint with the St. Louis Rams before returning to New England. He operated as the Offensive Coordinator for another ten seasons before becoming the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders for two seasons. During that short tenure, he held a disappointing 9-16 record. Now, he will return to where he spent 18 seasons, hoping to kickstart another dynasty with newly hired head coach Mike Vrabel. During his 18-year period with the Patriots, McDaniels won six Super Bowls. He was the offensive mind behind the record-breaking 2007 New England Patriots that went undefeated during the regular season. This is a positive sign for Drake Maye as he will have an experienced offensive coordinator with him who has had decades of professional winning experience.

According to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen is considered a favorite for the Jacksonville Jaguars' head-coach opening, and he could possibly be offered the job as early as Wednesday when he has a second interview with the team. The Jags are looking for a new coach after firing Doug Pederson following a 4-13 record in 2024 in his second year with the team. In addition to Coen, Jacksonville has second interviews planned with Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham on Thursday and former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh on Friday. Stroud writes there's a growing belief it's Coen's job to lose. The 39-year-old impressed the Jaguars in his virtual interview a week ago and is the most equipped to resurrect the career of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Under Coen, Baker Mayfield had a career year with the Bucs in 2024.

Free-agent DT Junior Aho, OL Matthew Cindric, WR Phillip Dorsett, RB Elijah Dotson, WR Dylan Drummond, OG Joey Fisher, OG Jovaughn Gwyn, DB Lamar X. Jackson, QB Emory Jones, DE Khalid Kareem, DT LaCale London, WR Jesse Matthews, WR Makai Polk, DB Benny Sapp III, WR David Sills and OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr. were signed to Reserve/Future contracts by the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) is not expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL in the Week 18 loss to the Chicago Bears. The 25-year-old has been plagued by the injury bug through the first three seasons of his NFL career, missing 13 regular-season games since being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. His potential delayed start to next season comes as no surprise given the timing of the major injury, and the Packers could look to bring in more wide receiver options via free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft. It won't be a surprise if Watson starts next season on the PUP list, meaning he'd be forced to sit out at least the first four games.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive consultant Tom Moore is returning to the team for a 49th season as an NFL coach in 2025, according to team reporter Rick Stroud. The 86-year-old has held several coaching positions, including offensive coordinator, wide receivers coach, running backs coach, assistant head coach, and offensive consultant. He is best known for his work with Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts from 1998 to 2010. Former Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians brought him to Tampa Bay following a stint with the Arizona Cardinals, and new head coach Todd Bowles retained him when he took over the head job in 2022. Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen is a potential head-coaching candidate this offseason, but Moore will remain in place and provide some stability for quarterback Baker Mayfield.
From RotoBaller
The Dallas Cowboys are interested in offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for their vacant head-coaching job, according to a person briefed on their opening. Dallas has only interviewed Robert Saleh, Kellen Moore and Leslie Frazier so far after parting ways with Mike McCarthy last week, but they will surely add a long list of candidates to interview. The 51-year-old Schottenheimer has been with Dallas since 2022 and has been their offensive coordinator the last two seasons. In addition to being the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys, he has run offenses for the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks while also serving as a quarterbacks coach for the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts. The Cowboys value continuity for QB Dak Prescott, so Schottenheimer will be a favorite for the position.
From RotoBaller
The Athletic's Dan Pompei believes that new Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson will likely empower quarterback Caleb Williams heading into his second year in the NFL after an up-and-down rookie campaign. Johnson gave QB Jared Goff authority with protection adjustments that not all signal-callers have while serving as the Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator, in addition to eliminating plays that Goff didn't like. Johnson was also a big proponent of going for it on fourth down, so the Bears offense should be much more aggressive under Williams in 2025. It's the main reason why Johnson was Chicago's top pick to be their next head coach. Despite plenty of weapons on offense in 2024, Williams was one of the worst downfield passers in his rookie season and had a 62.5% completion percentage to finish as the QB16 in fantasy. The addition of Johnson will surely make Williams a popular breakout candidate in 2025.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, the fourth overall pick in 2023, dealt with more injuries in his second NFL season in 2024 and did nothing to solidify himself as the long-term franchise QB in Indy. Richardson regressed as a passer, with his completion percentage dropping more than 11% points from his rookie year. In addition, his interceptions went up and there were questions about his off-field preparation, which led to a two-game benching in the middle of the year. The good news is that Richardson is healthy this offseason after missing the last two games of the year with a back injury, and he's already resumed throwing. His work this offseason with include refining his throws and throwing with more touch. Richardson will also be focusing on overall technique and plans to work with biometric expert Chris Hess. If Richardson can stay healthy and improves his footwork and throwing mechanics, he absolutely has QB1 upside in fantasy.
