Goff is playing his best football
Week 18 brings plenty of craziness to DFS. The key will be determining which players will actually take the field. With so many teams having nothing left to play for, we could see a lot of starters play limited snaps or get the week off completely. With that in mind, here are some players to consider for your lineups, as well as a few to potentially avoid.
Quarterbacks
Jared Goff, DET vs. MIN ($6,800): The Lions will battle the Vikings on Sunday Night Football. The winner claims not only the NFC North, but also the top seed in the NFC. Goff has produced four straight games with at least 283 passing yards and three touchdowns. In what should be a high-scoring affair, Goff comes with a high floor in DFS.
Bryce Young, CAR at ATL ($5,800): Young threw for just 203 yards last week against the Buccaneers, but he did have two passing touchdowns. That marked his second straight game with two passing touchdowns. The Falcons have struggled to defend the pass, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. That makes Young a potential bargain at his cheap salary.
Player to Avoid
Josh Allen, BUF at NE ($7,900): Despite the Bills being locked into the second seed in the AFC, Allen is expected to start this game. The reason is that he has a consecutive games played streak that he wants to keep alive. Don’t expect him to be in this game for long. He might not even last more than one series.
Running Backs
Bijan Robinson, ATL vs. CAR ($8,500): Robinson has scored two touchdowns in each of his last two games. Over his last seven games, he has scored eight touchdowns. During that span, he received at least 20 carries in a game five times. Expect him to be busy again versus the Panthers, who have allowed the most fantasy points per game to running backs in the league.
Michael Carter, ARI vs. SF ($4,700): The Cardinals will play their final game of the season without James Conner (knee) and Trey Benson (ankle). That leaves Carter and DeeJay Dallas as their top running backs. With Conner going down early last week, Carter had 13 carries for 70 yards. He also caught both of his targets for another 11 yards. At his cheap salary, Carter could be well worth the risk in tournament play.
Player to Avoid
Kyren Williams, LAR vs. SEA ($7,600): The Rams are another team that plans to rest their starters. They have already said that Jimmy Garoppolo will start in place of Matthew Stafford. If Williams plays, it likely won’t be for long.
Wide Receivers
Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET vs. MIN ($7,700): St. Brown posted eight receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers last week. That marked his third straight game with a touchdown. He was also targeted at least eight times in each of those games. When he faced the Vikings in Week 7, St. Brown caught all eight of his targets for 112 yards and one touchdown. The Vikings have allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers, making a Goff and St. Brown stack very appealing.
Adam Thielen, CAR at ATL ($6,200): Thielen has received at least six targets in each of the last five games. He finished with five receptions in each of those games. He also had three games with at least 99 receiving yards. Despite the Panthers’ offense not being great, Thielen also scored four touchdowns during that five-game span. The Falcons have allowed the fourth-most receptions to wide receivers in the league, so Thielen should be busy again.
Player to Avoid
Xavier Worthy, KC at DEN ($5,800): The Chiefs are going to rest some of their key veterans like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Worthy might still play, but that doesn’t mean he’s someone to consider in DFS. Starting at quarterback for the Chiefs will be Carson Wentz, so don’t expect their offense to be very productive.
Tight Ends
Sam LaPorta, DET vs. MIN ($4,700): After a quiet start to the season, LaPorta has received at least six targets in each of his last seven games. He scored five touchdowns during that span and he even had a game against the Bills in Week 15 in which he had 111 receiving yards. Viable tight end options are usually sparse in DFS, and this week is even worse with so many teams having nothing left to play for. This important matchup makes LaPorta worth considering.
Chig Okonkwo, TEN vs. HOU ($3,800): Okonkwo recorded five receptions for 42 yards against the Jaguars last week, while also adding 17 rushing yards on his lone carry. He has received at least seven targets and finished with at least five receptions in each of the last three games. Don’t expect his role to decline as the Titans close out their season against a Texans team that could be resting several key players on both sides of the ball.
Player to Avoid
Dalton Kincaid, BUF at NE ($4,100): Kincaid finished with only two receptions for 24 yards against the Jets last week. He only has two games all season with at least five receptions and he has yet to top 53 receiving yards in a game. Combine his already limited production with the potential that he sees fewer snaps Sunday and there’s no reason to consider Kincaid for your lineups.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker is set for an increased role for the upcoming Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The Bucs are without lead back Bucky Irving (foot) for Sunday's game. That being said, Rachaad White will take over as the lead back for this game. That also means, Sean Tucker moves up into the No. 2 role for this contest. The 23-year-old has only rushed the ball once through the first four games. Despite that, Tucker was a capable option when he was given a chance last season. He rushed the ball 50 times for 308 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games in 2024. That's an incredible 6.16 yards per carry, so the potential is certainly there. The biggest problem is the workload is unknown here, so Tucker is going to be too risky to trust for this Week 5 contest.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert has been seeing an increased role in the offense over the last few weeks. In the last two games, Tolbert has hauled in seven of his 12 targets for 85 yards. The 26-year-old has played over 80 percent of the offensive snaps during those games. The absence of CeeDee Lamb (ankle) has helped Tolbert, but it hasn't given him great fantasy value. Tolbert is worth a stash in deep leagues at the minimum. He should be considered a low-end flex option for the upcoming Week 5 matchup against the New York Jets.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle will take over as the lead back ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The Panthers are without Chuba Hubbard (calf) this week, so Dowdle is the next man up. Over the last two games, Dowdle has rushed 19 times for 62 yards and one touchdown. The 27-year-old has been working as the primary backup, but should offer streaming value as the starter. Trevor Etienne and DeeJay Dallas could also be involved, but Dowdle is the best option of the bunch. Given the injuries and byes in Week 5, Dowdle is looking like a viable RB2 to plenty of fantasy managers.

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill (knee) was activated off the PUP list and is ready to make his season debut against the New York Giants in Week 5. This marks the first time that Hill has played since suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 of last season. In eight games last season, Hill recorded 23 receptions for 187 yards with 278 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground. There is some touchdown-dependent value here, but it's unclear how much Hill is going to play in his first game. Hill is worth a stash for tight end needy fantasy managers, but isn't an ideal streaming option for Week 5.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) has begun the prehab process ahead of his ACL surgery in a few weeks. That means, Nabers is working on regaining mobility and strength around his knee. This seems like a positive development, but Nabers still has a long road ahead of him. There's no way the Giants can fill the type of production that Nabers brought to the team. The assumption is that Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton should be the primary receiving options now. The hope is that Nabers can return early next season.

According to a report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has developed steadily and is likely to make an appearance "when ready." The Browns are starting a rookie quarterback Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but gave Dillon Gabriel the first crack at playing following the benching of Joe Flacco. For now, Flacco will be the backup with Sanders set to be the third option, but Rapoport notes the team may give Sanders a chance later this season with a full week of starter's reps at practice and a gameplan crafted for him. From a fantasy perspective, it's awfully challenging to trust anything about the Browns' quarterback room, keeping Sanders as a dynasty stash for now.

The ailment that has hampered Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is a PCL injury and a bone bruise, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The star tight end sustained the injury in Week 1 against the New England Patriots and left the game, but has played through it in subsequent weeks. Schefter noted that doctors have advised the team that the only way to overcome the injury is rest, though Bowers played in Weeks 2-4. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously reported that Bowers is trending toward missing Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts, and an absence of Bowers would make Michael Mayer the team's top tight end option for at least a game.

Rookie cornerback Will Johnson (groin) is likely to be in the Arizona Cardinals' lineup on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The second-round pick from Michigan has not played since last month due to the injury, but appears set to go on Sunday. That should be a boost to Arizona, which will play host to one of the worst offenses in the NFL this week. Through four games, nobody has scored fewer points than Tennessee, which is still looking for its first win of 2025.

New England Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams (ankle) is likely to go when his team takes on the Buffalo Bills in Week 5, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The star defensive tackle missed practice this week due the injury and is listed as questionable to play on the final injury report, but seems likely to be active once the Patriots finalize their active roster. Williams' presence will be key for New England, which will be tasked with stopped Buffalo running back James Cook and the always-dangerous scrambling of quarterback Josh Allen.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Cincinnati Bengals are still not in the market to acquire another quarterback despite the team's struggles without franchise quarterback Joe Burrow (toe). In Burrow's absence, the Bengals have turned to backup Jake Browning, but have been blown out in consecutive weeks. The former Washington star is completing 64% of his passes and has thrown five interceptions compared to three touchdown passes in three games this year, though the team remains confident he can replicate 2023, when he went 4-3 as a starter with Burrow on injured reserve. With several veterans like Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson plausibly available, Cincinnati appears content to stick with Browning, who can be a fringe Superflex option given the right week-to-week matchup.

According to a report from NFL.com, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles aren't considering a trade of wide receiver A.J. Brown, who has publicly expressed frustration about his role in the team's offense. The star receiver is having a down year so far, having caught just 14 of 28 targets for 151 yards and a touchdown through four games. Though he's expressed his desire to be more involved, Brown also said he wants to stay with the Eagles, with the report noting the team will make it a point to get him more targets. Brown ranks a lowly 47th among PPR receivers, which would be by far the worst mark of his NFL career, so count fantasy managers among those who would like to see Brown featured once again.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Arizona Cardinals defensive back Will Johnson (groin) is likely to be active for Sunday's home meeting with the Tennessee Titans. The University of Michigan alum has been on the shelf since picking up a groin injury in Arizona's win over the Panthers in Week 2. Johnson finally returned to practice this week, albeit in a limited fashion, but his return comes at a good time. Teammate Denzel Burke (knee) was a late addition to the injury report with a knee issue and may not be able to play. With the rookie trending in the right direction, he'll be a boon in an already excellent matchup for the Cardinals' D/ST.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. Butker was busy in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens, nailing seven of his eight kicks. The Chief kicker was perfect on his three field goal attempts under 50 yards, but missed from 56 yards in the second quarter. Butker has made 10 of 13 field goal attempts (77%) and seven of nine extra-point attempts (78%). Butker has a career 88% field goal percentage and 94% extra-point percentage, so his accuracy has taken a dip to begin the season. The Kansas City kicker may not get many opportunities to right the ship against the Jaguars on Monday night. The Jacksonville defense is allowing the fifth-fewest points per game to opposing offenses, which can limit kicking opportunities. That said, the Chiefs offense looked rejuvenated with Xavier Worthy back, and they could be back to their high-scoring ways. Butker is ranked K5 in our RotoBaller rankings, making him a strong start at kicker in what could end up being a shootout.

According to Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, the team is hopeful that offensive lineman Jack Conklin (elbow) will be available for Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings in London. Conklin has been bothered by an elbow injury that's forced him to miss the previous three games, but it appears the Browns are holding out hope for him after he logged his first full practice since Week 1 on Friday. The sentiment seems to be that the 31-year-old will play. If he's inactive, it will be teammate Cornelius Lucas holding down the edge in rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel's NFL debut.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin could be in store for increased snaps this Sunday when his team squares off with the Las Vegas Raiders at home. Dulin is poised to be the beneficiary of an expanded workload this weekend, with teammate Alec Pierce (concussion) set to miss another game, and Adonai Mitchell falling out of favor with the coaching staff. Mitchell made two egregious errors in Week 4 that each resulted in a touchdown being taken off the board. Fowler notes that while Mitchell will be active in Week 5, he's expected to see limited involvement. Mitchell actually out-snapped fellow WR Josh Downs last weekend, but it remains to be seen if Dulin would be used in a similar role. With that in mind, he'll be better off avoided for fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell will be active this weekend for his team's outing against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders, but is expected to see a decreased role, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Mitchell boasted decent output in Week 4 (3/96), but a costly fumble and holding penalty have him in the dog house ahead of Week 5. Fowler notes that fellow wideout Ashton Dulin will take on a larger workload with Mitchell likely to ride the pine for most of Sunday's contest. It's unfortunate timing for the University of Texas product, as he'd have seen another uptick in snaps with Alec Pierce (concussion) out for a second consecutive week. Even if Mitchell can work himself back into the good graces of the coaching staff, he'll resume WR4 duties upon Pierce's return.
From RotoBaller
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (knee, elbow) is trending toward playing this Sunday when his team takes on the Arizona Cardinals. Despite a questionable designation, two DNPs and a limited session on Friday, it appears that the veteran is on track to play in his Week 5 matchup. Ridley picked up knee and elbow injuries during Tennessee's loss to the Texans last weekend, which is why he played just 54% of the snaps. Even if he's active, it's unclear precisely how healthy he is, adding an extra variable into an already risky situation. The Cardinals are actually a decent matchup, yielding the fifth-most passing yards per contest (255.5). However, the 30-year-old's floor has been low with rookie QB Cam Ward, and fantasy managers can't trust him as anything more than a low-end flex option.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown was on the injury report with an ankle injury, but practiced fully all week and does not have an injury designation for Monday night. Brown will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. The 28-year-old had a solid game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, catching three passes for 38 yards and a touchdown. Brown took an expected step back with the return of Xavier Worthy, and this decreased usage should continue against the Jaguars. The Jacksonville defense is middle-of-the-pack in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers, and Kansas City is second in pass rate over expectation, so the passing volume should be there for Brown to be productive. Brown is ranked WR42 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings, making him a deeper league flex option this week.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night in Week 5. Kelce caught five passes for 48 yards in last week's win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs star put up a modest stat line in Week 4, but played a secondary role behind the returning speedster Xavier Worthy. Worthy finished the game with the most receiving and rushing yards on the team against the Ravens. Kelce is no longer capable of putting the team on his back, but he's still involved enough in the offense to warrant a weekly start. With the return of Rashee Rice from suspension in a few weeks, it will be interesting to see how Kelce's role is affected. That said, Kelce should still be a big part of the passing attack against the Jaguars. Jacksonville's defense is middle-of-the-pack in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, so Kelce should have no issues against them. Kelce is ranked TE8 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings, making him a mid-range TE1 once again.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs running back Brashard Smith will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. Smith saw his snap rate and touches reach season-highs in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. The rookie running back handled four carries for nine yards (2.3 yards per carry) and three catches for 27 receiving yards. Smith converted to running back from wide receiver in college, making receiving a huge part of his game. The 22-year-old also ran a 4.39 40-yard dash, making him a speedy option to get the ball to in space. There has been a lot of buzz about getting Smith more involved in the offense each week, and that should be the case against the Jaguars, who allow the eighth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. If fellow backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt struggle to find success on the ground, Smith could make things happen through the air. Smith is ranked RB46 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings, putting him in desperation flex territory. It would be advisable to take a wait-and-see approach with Smith this week.
