The Eagles, Buccaneers, Jets and Browns are all on a bye during Week 9. That removes a few very appealing DFS options across multiple positions. With that in mind, here are some of the top players to consider for your lineups, as well as some to possibly avoid.
Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones, IND at PIT ($6,200): It has been a resurgent season for Jones, who has completed 71.2% of his pass attempts and already has 17 total touchdowns. After playing in a conservative Giants offense the last few seasons, Jones has an average target depth of 8.6 yards this year. The Colts are also doing a good job of protecting him, resulting in his 3.6% sack rate. This is a great matchup to deploy him in DFS with the Steelers allowing the most passing yards per game in the league.
Jaxson Dart, NYG vs. SF ($5,200): Dart has lost his top weapons with Cam Skattebo (ankle) now joining Malik Nabers (knee) on the sidelines. However, it’s his ability to do damage with his legs that might make him worth the risk in DFS. He has posted a rushing touchdown in four of his five starts. That’s in addition to him totaling eight passing touchdowns over five games.
Player to Avoid
Bo Nix, DEN at HOU ($6,400): The Texans have a stellar secondary. They have given up just six passing touchdowns, while recording seven interceptions. Their 6.37 yards allowed per pass attempt is the fifth-lowest mark in the league. As impressive as Nix was during his four-touchdown performance against the Cowboys last week, his upside might be limited in this matchup.
Running Backs
Christian McCaffrey, SF at NYG ($8,800): Last week was a rare dud for McCaffrey, who posted eight carries, 25 rushing yards, three receptions and 43 receiving yards. It came against the aforementioned Texans, so don’t read too much into one bad stat line. McCaffrey has generally been busy, averaging 24.5 touches per game. Look for him to get back on track against the Giants, who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to running backs.
Kareem Hunt, KC at BUF ($4,700): Isiah Pacheco (knee) is listed as week-to-week, so with the Chiefs having their bye in Week 10, it makes sense for them to hold him out of this matchup. Hunt has already been their top red zone option, recording 13 rushing attempts inside the 20-yard line this season. The Bills have allowed nine rushing touchdowns to running backs, which trails only the Titans (12). Don’t be surprised if Hunt records at least one score in a game in which he should receive added carries.
Player to Avoid
Jordan Mason, MIN at DET ($5,700): The Vikings were blown out by the Chargers in Week 8, which forced them to throw a lot late in the game. Still, Mason finished with just four carries for three yards. While the way the game unfolded didn’t help his cause, Aaron Jones Sr. also made his return from injured reserve in the matchup. Mason will still get some work, but at the very least, Jones should be the Vikings’ first choice in passing situations. A reduced role against a Lions team that has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs is not a recipe for success.
Wide Receivers
DK Metcalf, PIT vs. IND ($5,500): Metcalf is coming off a Week 8 performance against the Packers in which he caught five of seven targets for 55 yards and a touchdown. That marked the fifth time over the last six games that he has reached the end zone. The Colts have allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game in the league, so in what could be a high-scoring game on both sides, Metcalf makes a lot of sense at his reasonable salary.
Alec Pierce, IND at PIT ($4,600): Pierce has quietly become one of the better deep threats in the league. He averaged 22.3 yards per reception last season and has averaged 21.4 yards per catch this year. His average depth of target is 21.3 yards this year, so in a matchup against a bad Steelers’ secondary, he has the potential to provide significant value.
Player to Avoid
Courtland Sutton, DEN at HOU ($6,500): There is a lot to like about Sutton, who has accounted for 20.7% of the Broncos’ targets this season and has an average depth of target of 12.1 yards. With 536 receiving yards already, he is on pace to reach at least 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in his career. However, with how well the Texans have defended the pass, this might be one of the few weeks when fading Sutton is the correct call.
Tight Ends
Trey McBride, ARI at DAL ($6,000): After incredibly posting just two receiving touchdowns last season, McBride has already found his way into the end zone four times this year. He has also accounted for 28.4% of the Cardinals’ targets and 25.8% of their air yards. The Cowboys have given up the second-most passing yards per game in the league, so McBride has the potential to be well worth his hefty salary among tight ends.
Brock Bowers, LV vs. JAX ($5,000): Bowers has missed the last three games because of a knee injury. With the Raiders having their bye in Week 8, he is ready to go for Sunday. His return brings a favorable matchup versus the Jaguars, who have allowed the ninth-most yards per target to tight ends. This might be one of the last opportunities of the season to add Bowers to your lineup at this cheap of a salary.
Player to Avoid
Evan Engram, DEN at HOU ($3,900): Again, we’re fading this matchup for the Broncos’ offense against the Texans. Engram has established a relatively high floor with at least four receptions in each of his last five games, but his average depth of target is just 4.8 yards and he only has one touchdown. Look elsewhere if you’re trying to go cheap at tight end.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (knee) and rookie cornerback Shavon Revel (knee) are "trending" toward playing in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas News. Overshown suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in December of last season and has been on the Physically Unable to Perform List for most of the season. His 21-day practice window was opened on October 22, and he'll be set to return following the team's Week 10 bye. Revel, on the other hand, has also been recovering from a torn ACL suffered in September 2024 during his final season at East Carolina. The rookie third-rounder began the season on the Reserve/Non-Football Injured List and is trending towards making his NFL debut in Week 11. Overshown and Revel could be big players to get back for a struggling Dallas defense. They'll be expected to be joined by Dallas' two trade deadline acquisitions in linebacker Logan Wilson and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Noah Fant caught two of his three targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in a thrilling 47-42 loss against the Chicago Bears in Week 9. Fant caught his third touchdown of the season and has now recorded multiple receptions in four straight games. Fant had little involvement in this game despite it being one of the highest scoring games we will see all season. Since posting a season high 73.5% route share in Week 7, the 27-year-old has dipped to 33.3% and 44% in each of the past two weeks. The targets in Cincinnati's offense are heavily consolidated around the top two wideouts in Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase, and with Fant's route share being limited in back-to-back games, fantasy managers should likely look elsewhere if searching for a streamer at tight end for Week 10.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth scored his third touchdown of the season in Sunday's 27-20 win over the AFC-leading Indianapolis Colts. Freiermuth has gotten rolling a bit after a slower start to the year, recording at least three receptions in each of the past three games and scoring all three touchdowns. The 27-year-old leads the team in receiving yards in that time and ranks as TE4 in total PPR points (44.1). It's fueled almost entirely by his five catches, 111-yard, two-touchdown performance against the horrendous Cincinnati Bengals defense on Thursday night in Week 7. The usage isn't there to justify Freiermuth all of a sudden jumping to TE1 status in fantasy. Freiermuth profiles as a low-end streaming option against the Chargers on Sunday Night Football in Week 10.

Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. had his best game of the season in Sunday night's blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks, handling 12 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. Rodriguez scored his second touchdown of the season, while the 12 carries and 65 yards were both the second-highest totals of his three-year career. The 25-year-old saw the same number of carries as rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and could be working his way back into a timeshare on early downs, with the rookie struggling on the ground of late. Rodriguez is a physical, bruising back that will get the yardage that is blocked for him and adds a few more after contact as he's always falling forward. The Washington offense will be without star quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) for the foreseeable future, but Marcus Mariota is capable of running the same style of offense. Rodriguez offers waiver wire value in deeper leagues headed into Week 10.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. drew another seven targets in Week 9's 24-23 loss to the Patriots, converting them into four catches for 38 yards. While his continued involvement in the passing attack has been a welcome change compared to the underwhelming production of the past few seasons, it hasn't amounted to much for fantasy, as the 25-year-old has just a single touchdown on the season. Also, althoughhe's on pace for 91 receptions, which would obliterate his previous career high of 68, the 6-foot-6 tight end is pacing for 812 yards, which would be more than last season's 602 yards but would fall well short of his career high of 1,026 that was set in his rookie season of 2021. Still, with two more red zone targets this past Sunday, the fifth-year pro could be on the verge of his big breakout performance of 2025, and he'll get a favorable matchup against the Colts in Germany this week versus a defense that's yielded a touchdown to an opposing tight end for four straight weeks now.
From RotoBaller
Despite being rumored as a potential candidate to be moved, Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford will remain with his team through the 2025 trade deadline. The 26-year-old has mostly been limited to a passing-downs role in Cleveland this season, recording 149 scrimmage yards on 42 touches across eight games played. However, Ford could play an expanded role in his team's Week 10 matchup against the New York Jets. Star rookie running back Quinshon Judkins (shoulder) suffered an AC joint sprain in Cleveland's final game before their Week 9 bye, putting his availability for Week 10 in question. Even if Judkins is out, Ford would likely split backfield work in Cleveland with Dylan Sampson. Still, Ford would profile as at least a low-end flex option for fantasy managers in most formats in a favorable matchup against New York if Judkins cannot play.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) has not yet played this season as he recovers from the devastating knee injury he suffered seven games into his 2024 campaign. Aiyuk appears to be multiple weeks away from a return, as the team is not opening his 21-day practice window ahead of its Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. In his last healthy season in 2023, Aiyuk recorded 75 catches for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns on 105 targets across 16 games. There's no questioning the 27-year-old's ability to be productive when he's on the field; it's just a matter of when Aiyuk's knee will be healthy enough for him to return. Fantasy managers should have minimal expectations for Aiyuk's 2025 production. Still, in leagues with IR spots, Aiyuk could be a low-risk flier worth stashing.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot) has been on Injured Reserve since suffering a broken collarbone in Week 2. Reed also underwent foot surgery, so he's recovering from multiple injuries. Still, it appears as though the 25-year-old could be nearing a return. Across 17 games in 2024, Reed recorded 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns on 75 targets. He'll join a crowded Packers wide receiver room upon his return and should see stiff competition for playing time and targets from Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Matthew Golden. However, Green Bay lost star tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) to a torn ACL in Week 9, potentially opening up opportunities in the passing game. Reed may not be active for his team's Week 10 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he still may be worth adding off the waiver wire now in fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington recorded a season-high 48 receiving yards on three catches in his team's Week 9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 24-year-old has struggled with efficiency so far this season, logging just 183 yards on 28 catches (6.5 yards per catch). Still, Washington has emerged as a consistent target-earner since Miami lost star wideout Tyreek Hill (knee) to a season-ending knee injury in Week 4. Washington has earned at least five targets in four out of his last five games played. His upside is limited, but Washington should continue to provide a relatively stable fantasy floor in PPR-scoring formats. Heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Buffalo Bills, Washington is worth rostering in PPR leagues with 12 or more teams.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman has recorded just 15 catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns on 29 targets across eight games played in 2025. However, Bateman recorded his second touchdown reception of the season in Week 9, Baltimore's first game with quarterback Lamar Jackson under center since Week 4. Across 17 games with Jackson in 2024, Bateman recorded 45 catches for 756 yards and nine touchdowns on 72 targets. Bateman will likely remain a low-target-volume player, but Jackson's return to the lineup should unlock his big-play ability. In fantasy leagues with 14 or more teams, Bateman could be worth targeting on the waiver wire heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones turned in his worst performance of the season in a 27-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. Jones completed 31 of his 50 passes for 342 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions while adding a rushing touchdown as well. The veteran quarterback came into the game with just three interceptions all season, thus doubling his number in that area in the disappointing loss. Jones will look to bounce back at home against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. Atlanta has been tough on quarterbacks this season, allowing just the 27th-most fantasy points per game to the position. That being said, Jones has earned enough leeway thanks to his strong play this season to be considered as a low-end QB1 in fantasy for that matchup.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor finally cooled off in a 27-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. Taylor carried the ball 14 times for 45 yards while catching both of his targets for 12 yards in the disappointing loss to Pittsburgh. It was the first time all season that Taylor had been held to fewer than 66 rushing yards and just the third time in nine games that he was held out of the end zone. Taylor will now head back home to face off against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. Atlanta has struggled to slow opposing rushing attacks this season, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to running backs in eight games. Taylor remains a rock-solid RB1 in all fantasy formats heading into Week 10's contest.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren turned in a quiet game in a Week 9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Warren caught five of his seven targets for just 26 yards in the loss, a season-low in receiving yards for the breakout rookie. The first-year tight end will look to move past his quietest game as a pro in a Week 10 home matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have dominated enemy tight ends this season, allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Warren remains a main piece of the Indy passing attack, but fantasy managers would be wise to temper expectations heading into Week 10. He is looking more like a low-end TE1 this coming weekend in all fantasy formats.

Dynasty | Jets running back Breece Hall was not traded prior to Tuesday's deadline. Dynasty Analysis: This is a situation where no news is actually news as Hall was rumored to be of interest to several contenders. In reality, him staying in New York is a pretty big disappointment as dynasty managers were clearly hoping he'd land in a better spot this year prior to hitting free agency. With the Jets waving the white flag and sending away both Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, things aren't going to get much easier for Hall as he's now clearly on a tanking team. This could also be a decent buying window as the talented Hall is very unlikely to be on the Jets after this season.
Dynasty | The Saints did not trade wide receiver Chris Olave prior to Tuesday's deadline. Dynasty Analysis: Olave was rumored to be of interest to several teams, including the Bills (let your imagination wander). However, the Saints kept him in the hopes they could sign him to an extension. We'll see if that pans out in the end, but anyone with Olave on their dynasty roster has to be at least a little disappointed. Let's face it - Olave has a high floor and a low ceiling in an offense led by Tyler Shough or Spencer Rattler.
Dynasty | The Cardinals will start Jacoby Brissett this week against Seattle. Dynasty Analysis: Murray's foot injury is said to still be a factor but it's not hard to read the tea leaves here as Arizona seems to have soured on Murray as their present and future at the position. It's a stunning turn of events on paper but it's also obvious to everyone that Jacoby Brissett has simply played better than Murray, which doesn't bode well for his future. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks but expecting Murray to stay with the Cardinals next season seems pretty far-fetched. His ADP is going to take a nose dive this week.
New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has put together three strong performances over the last few weeks. On Sunday, Johnson hauled in three of his four targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Before that, Johnson had posted back-to-back five-catch games for the Saints. It's worth noting that the Saints traded wide receiver Rashid Shaheed on Tuesday, so Johnson could see more passes coming his way. Johnson is worth rostering in most fantasy formats and is someone to consider as a streaming option for the Week 10 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys running back Malik Davis has been waived by the organization on Tuesday. Davis was signed off the practice squad ahead of Monday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The 26-year-old has seen a minimal role in the backfield over the last two games. Davis has rushed three times for six yards over the last two games. His absence isn't going to make much of an impact on the Cowboys backfield going forward.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz (illness) was listed as a non-participant during Tuesday's estimated practice. The team should offer more on his status soon, but this is somewhat concerning with a quick turnaround against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday. The veteran kicker knocked down his lone extra point and 1-of-2 field goal attempts during Sunday's win over the Houston Texans. Lutz figures to be ready for Thursday's game, but fantasy managers will have a better idea after Wednesday's practice session.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn is reportedly dealing with a lower-body injury right now. It's unclear when or how he suffered the injury, but his status for the Week 10 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars is up in the air. It sounds like the veteran kicker is currently receiving treatment. The organization should give more information on his status soon. The Texans hosted kicker Matthew Wright on Tuesday. Wright figures to take over the kicking duties if Fairbairn is unable to go this weekend.
